Do you have any forums that you drop by frequently?
If so, what is the main motivation that keeps you spending most of your time hanging around the forums?
Is it because you have some internet friends in the forum, or maybe you need helps for your marketing problems or simply you just want to chat with people and be recognized as an authority in certain topics?
To me, keeping up with huge amount of posts and contents each day would be a total waste of my time, especially if it doesn’t benefit me in any way towards my business… somehow that’s what I used to think.
Until recently I signed up for a newsletter authored by the “Queen of Forums, Cindy Battye. She ultimately reverse the views I have in participating the forums, she also teaches me how to utilize it and turn it into one of my powerful marketing weapon.
Today I’ll like to share with you one of the most useful tips that I’ve learn from her on how to make use of the forum signatures to their full extent.
Most people only use their signatures in an attempt to spam the forum. This not only waste their time and effort when someone clicks on your signature link and only to find out what you offer are usually not related to what they are looking for, but also a great impact on your reputation as they will try to avoid clicking your links in the future.
So the correct way to leave your forum signatures is to consider these 4 important factors when you edit your signature:
1. PROMOTION - The signature link acts just like roadside advertising, especially if it is done such a way it doesn’t annoy anyone. In other words, no animated smileys. The repetition of the link and the helpful information above your signature are an effective and long lasting way to promote your company and your product.
2. TRAFFIC - In addition to the promotion which you get from adding your business web link to your signature, you get the traffic from the people who see the site promoted and follow through by clicking on the link. A link that appears regularly on a large and trusted forum is often seen as being more trustworthy. Because the link is visible and the messages are never harsh or divisive, there is already a level of confidence build in the website by itself.
3. BACKLINKS - Each time you post at a forum, you are not only promoting your web page directly and adding to the traffic coming to your website, you’re also growing the numbers of your backlinks on your own website. When the search engine spider crawls the forum, your link is counted as a backlink, which provides you with many backlinks within a very short period of time.
4. PAGE RANKING - Increasing the numbers of backlinks can assist in increasing your page rank. Page ranking is Google’s measure of importance that they put they stamp on your site, and will affect how high up the page of your website will appear if a person types your keywords into the search engine. You can easily increase your page rank without the need of purchasing any links.
All you need to do is include your web site link within your signature. Although not instantaneous, your signature-based link will soon give you an increased page ranking. Set your signature up correctly. For the best result, use keywords that you want to be found for when people are searching in Google.
Do you still think that spending some time hanging around inside the forums are a waste of time?
Well, at least not for me anymore…
Of course, to fully utilize a forum site will not only consist of adding your your signatures, there’s more to it. But your main concern when making a post to which ever forum you’re in is to understand their rules and regulation, and to provide genuinely useful contents when starting or replying to certain topics.

Health and Streass Problem from American Lifestyle

One-third of Americans are living with extreme stress and nearly half of Americans (48 percent) believe that their stress has increased over the past five years. Stress is taking a toll on people - contributing to health problems, poor relationships and lost productivity at work, according to a new national survey released today by the American Psychological Association (APA).
Money and work continue as the leading causes of stress for three quarters of Americans, a dramatic increase over the 59 percent reporting the same sources of stress in 2006. The survey also found that the housing crisis is having an effect on many, with half of Americans (51 percent) citing rent or mortgage costs as sources of stress this year.
Nearly half of all Americans report that stress has a negative impact on both their personal and professional lives. About one-third (31 percent) of employed adults have difficulty managing work and family responsibilities and 35 percent cite jobs interfering with their family or personal time as a significant source of stress. Stress causes more than half of Americans (54 percent) to fight with people close to them. One in four people report that they have been alienated from a friend or family member because of stress, with 8 percent connecting stress to divorce or separation.
“Stress in America continues to escalate and is affecting every aspect of people’s lives - from work to personal relationships to sleep patterns and eating habits, as well as their health,” says psychologist Russ Newman, PhD, JD, APA executive director for professional practice. “We know that stress is a fact of life and some stress can have a positive impact, however, the high stress levels that many Americans report experiencing can have long-term health consequences, ranging from fatigue to obesity and heart disease.”
Stress Affecting Health
Twenty-eight percent of Americans say they are managing their stress extremely well. However, many people report experiencing physical symptoms (77 percent) and psychological symptoms (73 percent) related to stress in the last month. Physical symptoms of stress include: fatigue (51 percent); headache (44 percent); upset stomach (34 percent); muscle tension (30 percent); change in appetite (23 percent), teeth grinding (17 percent); change in sex drive (15 percent); and feeling dizzy (13 percent). Psychological symptoms of stress include: experiencing irritability or anger (50 percent); feeling nervous (45 percent); lack of energy (45 percent); and feeling as though you could cry (35 percent). In addition, almost half (48 percent) of Americans report lying awake at night due to stress.
How Americans Manage Stress
While Americans deal with high levels of stress on a daily basis, the health consequences are most serious when that stress is managed poorly. Four in ten Americans (43 percent) say they overeat or eat unhealthy foods to manage stress, while one-third (36 percent) skipped a meal in the last month because of stress. Those who drink (39 percent) or smoke cigarettes (19 percent) were also more likely to engage in these unhealthy behaviors during periods of high stress. Significant numbers of Americans report watching TV for more than two hours a day (43 percent) and playing video games or surfing the Internet (39 percent). Healthy behaviors used to manage stress included: listening to music (54 percent); reading (52 percent); exercising or walking (50 percent); spending time with family and friends (40 percent); and praying (34 percent).

Google New Widget?

Last Night Google announced that they were rolling out a revolutionary new ad format for both their Adwords advertisers as well as their Adsense affiliates. These new ads will be in widget form, much like the gadgets you can put on your IGoogle homepage. They will be interactive, feature rich media content, and all allow the advertiser to track how well they are doing.
Benefits to Publishers and Website Visitors:
This will give Adsense publishers yet another great way to earn money from their content, while providing their visitors with something at least more entertaining then the banner ads we are all used to seeing.
Benefits to Advertisers:
These new widget ads will take the online advertising market in a whole new direction. With ad blocking software becoming more and more frequent now-a-days, these new ads should slip by the filters. Instead of viewers seeing ads as a nuisanc, they will view them as just a part of their internet experience. Advertisers get unique tracking on the ads to see how well they perform, and the widget format will create a community type atmosphere between the advertiser and viewers.
Some analysts and early advertisers who have tested the ads with consumers said the capacity to measure the effectiveness of so-called rich media advertising is a technology breakthrough for the industry that bolsters Google’s push into the corporate brand market.
“Gadget Ads is very far reaching,” said Andrew Frank, an online advertising analyst with market research firm Gartner Inc. “This is the platform that Google is going to build all their cross-media advertising services upon,” he said.
